I just read something from another mom who adopted a child from John Wesley's orphanage. She was told "Don't feed her so much and you won't have to change diapers so much." Breaks my heart that our baby is there.
This family found out that their child is much younger than the records indicate. I have a feeling we will be finding the same thing to be true for John John.
Oh Sharon!!!! It won't be much longer now! I too think he is younger than they say he is but one thing is for certain - John Wesley is ADORABLE!!!!! Hang in there sweet friend. You will be holding him (and feeding him) before you know it!!! Until then, the Lord will be doing that for you!
ReplyDeleteWe brought our son home from Shanghai back in May. His birthday is listed as 8/1/09. Even from the referral pictures, we questioned whether he was really that old... Now that we have had him home (& "officially" celebrated his 2nd birthday), we're almost positive that he is younger. We're thinking he's somewhere around 16-20'ish months old. At this point in time, though we're not doing much about it because we're just not sure. He's only been home with us a little over 3 months & we're just trying to "catch him up" as best we can.
ReplyDeleteI didn't ever hear any statement, however, about not feeding our son (not to say something like that didn't happen to someone else). Our own experience with Shanghai was pretty positive. We were actually quite impressed with them, though we didn't get the opportunity to tour the actual orphanage.
Good luck!
